Sumaiyea Akter Prema completed her BSc in Software Engineering from Noakhali Science and Technology University. During her academic journey, she built a strong foundation in software development principles and software testing methodologies.

She is currently working as a Junior QA Engineer at Arogga. Her journey with the company began as a QA Intern in the Technology Department, where she completed a three-month internship. During this period, she gained hands-on experience in software testing, requirement analysis, and bug reporting. Based on her performance and contributions, she was later promoted to the position of Junior QA Engineer.

Prema discovered the internship opportunity through LinkedIn on Arogga’s official page for the Arogga Launchpad Internship (Cohort 1). Since the opportunity aligned closely with her career interests, she applied directly through LinkedIn.

The recruitment process at Arogga consisted of several structured phases.

Phase 1: Application Submission

Prema found the internship circular on LinkedIn through Arogga’s official page and submitted her application directly through the platform.

Phase 2: Written Assessment

After being shortlisted, she was invited for an on-site written assessment. The test duration was approximately 30 minutes and included questions on software testing concepts, basic programming knowledge, database fundamentals, and behavioral scenarios.

To prepare for this phase, she revised important topics such as:

  • SDLC and STLC
  • Test case writing
  • Bug life cycle
  • Basic SQL queries
  • Programming fundamentals

Phase 3: Technical and HR Interview

Candidates who successfully passed the written assessment were invited for the viva interview on the same day. The interview panel included the Technical Lead, Associate Product Manager, and HR representatives.

During the interview, she was asked questions related to:

  • Software testing fundamentals
  • Real-life testing scenarios
  • Bug handling approaches
  • Problem-solving strategies
  • Team collaboration and communication
  • Handling pressure in workplace situations

Phase 4: Onboarding

The final phase was the onboarding process, where the company introduced organizational workflows, project environments, team expectations, and internal processes.

Preparation Strategy

To prepare herself for the recruitment process, Prema completed a structured SQA course titled “Road to SQA”. The course helped her build a strong conceptual foundation and improve her understanding of software testing concepts, tools, and real-world application scenarios.

Special thanks to Sumaiyea Akter Prema for taking out the time to share her recruitment experience with me. If you have any queries, feel free to contact her at prema2515@student.nstu.edu.bd
