Recruitment Stories - Ashik's Experience at Brain Station 23

MD Kazi Ashik Ahmed is currently working as an SQA Engineer I at Brain Station 23.

He completed his graduation in 2023 from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology with a major in Computer Science and Engineering. During his university years, he was actively involved in software development and explored different areas of programming. He also participated in several competitive programming contests and tech events, which helped him build strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

He applied for the SQA position through the official career portal of Brain Station 23. He regularly checked the company’s career page for openings and submitted his application after finding a suitable SQA role. The application process was straightforward, requiring him to upload his CV and provide the necessary information.

In September 2025, he joined Brain Station 23 as a trainee, and he is currently working there as an SQA Engineer.

Hiring Process at Brain Station 23

After applying through the company portal, his recruitment journey went through several stages.

Round 1: CV Screening

After submitting his application, the recruitment team reviewed his CV and shortlisted him for the next stage based on his background, skills, and experience.

Round 2: MCQ & Written Exam

This round consisted of both MCQ and written assessments. The exam mainly covered:

  • Manual Testing concepts
  • Automation Testing basics
  • General Software Testing knowledge
  • QA-related theoretical questions
  • Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Problem-solving scenarios
  • Test case writing based on real-life situations

This stage was designed to evaluate both theoretical understanding and practical thinking ability.

Round 3: Short Online Interview

The next stage was a short online interview that lasted around 5 to 10 minutes. The interviewer asked several questions based on his CV and previous experiences. This round mainly focused on communication skills and overall clarity.

Round 4: On-site Automation Task

This was one of the most important stages of the hiring process. He was invited to the office of Brain Station 23 and was given a 3-hour automation task.

The task focused on areas such as:

  • Handling input fields
  • Form validation
  • Assertions
  • Test data handling
  • Writing structured automation scripts

This round was designed to evaluate practical automation testing skills.

Round 5: Technical Interview

In this round, he faced a detailed technical interview where the discussion included:

  • Automation Testing concepts
  • API Testing
  • Basics of Performance Testing
  • Real-life testing scenarios
  • Future goals and career plans in SQA

The interviewers also evaluated his problem-solving approach and testing strategies.

Round 6: HR Interview

The final round was conducted by the HR team. During this stage, the discussion included:

  • Company policies and facilities
  • Overall expectations from both sides

This round mainly focused on determining whether he was a good fit for the company culture and work environment.
