Abu Zafar Mohammed Siam is currently working as a Software QA Engineer Intern at Fiftytwo Digital Ltd. He recently completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Asia Pacific. Before his university studies, he pursued his O Levels at Green Scholars International School and later completed his A Levels at Vertical Horizon. Alongside his technical skills, Siam values effective communication and enjoys engaging with others, which he considers one of his strongest attributes.

Siam first heard about the opportunity at Fiftytwo Digital Ltd. through a friend and was encouraged by the company’s strong reputation. After researching further, he found the company’s positive work culture aligned well with his personal values. The fact that Fiftytwo operates internationally also impressed him, as it reflected credibility and growth potential. Motivated by these factors, he decided to apply through the company’s official website.

The recruitment process involved the following phases:

Phase 1: Application & Phone Interview

Siam applied through the company’s official website. Within a few days, he was contacted by an HR executive for a 40-minute phone interview. In this phase, he was asked about the basics of Software Quality Assurance, including different types of testing, QA tools, and some analytical questions. He was also presented with scenario-based behavioral questions to assess his communication and problem-solving skills. At the end of the call, he was informed that if everything went well, he would be invited for an in-person technical interview.

Phase 2: Preparation for Technical Interview

About a week later, he was contacted again and invited for the next phase. The company was flexible with scheduling, so Siam requested an additional week to prepare. During this time, he revised QA fundamentals, OOP basics, and programming concepts to ensure he was ready.

Phase 3: Technical Interview

On the day of the interview, Siam found the office environment welcoming, which helped ease his nerves. The technical interview lasted for about an hour and included four coding problems, analytical and theoretical questions from QA and programming, as well as a discussion of his CV, projects, and achievements. The interviewers maintained a supportive and professional atmosphere, which made the session engaging and less intimidating.

Phase 4: Behavioral Interview

Siam attended the behavioral interview with a senior HR executive. In this session, the company’s culture, job responsibilities, and expectations were explained in detail, while the HR also ensured that Siam was still interested in the role.

Finally, about a week later, Siam received the news of his selection. After completing the required technical and logistical processes, he officially received his joining offer.

Special thanks to Abu Zafar Mohammed Siam for taking out the time to share his recruitment experience with me. If you have any queries, feel free to contact him at siam14441@gmail.com
