Recruitment Stories - Sajedul's Experience at Miaki Media Ltd

Md Sajedul Islam is currently working at Miaki Media Ltd as a DevOps Engineer, but his path into technology has been anything but conventional. With a BBA in Management, Sajedul started out from a non-technical background. His entry into the IT field was made possible through the IsDB-BISEW IT Scholarship, which gave him the opportunity to build a career in technology.

He began his professional journey in June 2020 as a Software Engineer. Shortly after, he moved into DevOps at Infolytx, where his work primarily focused on MLOps. His next step took him to BRACNet, where he contributed as a Cloud Engineer. There, he played a key role in building cloud solutions and designing infrastructure for major clients such as BRAC Microfinance, BRAC Enterprise, Apex, and Othoba. Today, he applies his expertise in cloud computing, CI/CD pipeline management, automation, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, and infrastructure design at Miaki.

When Sajedul applied for the role at Miaki via LinkedIn, he went through a structured recruitment process that consisted of four phases:

Phase 1 - HR Screening

  • Format: Phone call
  • Focus: Initial screening and expectation alignment
  • Key Topics: Current salary, expected salary, notice period, total years of experience, and technologies he had worked with.

Phase 2 - Technical Interview with CTO

  • Format: Google Meet (30 minutes)
  • Focus: Deep technical assessment
  • Key Topics: DevOps tools and workflow, designing deployment strategies for complex microservices applications, optimizing Docker images, Kubernetes strategies (rolling updates, blue-green, canary), and security best practices in cloud environments.

Phase 3 - Project-Specific Technical Discussion

  • Format: Google Meet (30 minutes) with the Project Owner
  • Focus: Role-specific technical discussions
  • Key Topics: Product-specific deployment workflows, high availability strategies, and backup/disaster recovery planning.

Phase 4 - Offer Stage & Final HR Discussion

  • Format: Phone call + Online assessments
  • Focus: Salary negotiation, joining date finalization, company benefits, and digital signing of the offer letter. A psychology-based mental aptitude and work culture test was also part of this stage.

Through this rigorous process, Sajedul successfully secured the role and continues to grow his expertise in DevOps and cloud technologies at Miaki Media Ltd.
