Recruitment Stories - Raian's Experience at Therap (BD) Ltd.

Raian Rahman is currently working as an Associate Software Engineer at Therap (BD) Ltd. He has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Islamic University of Technology. Raian is a machine learning enthusiast and loves studying new technologies on Natural Language Processing.

Raian applied for the role at Therap through campus recruitment. Then, he went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:

Phase 1: Screening Test

This was an online assessment that lasted for half an hour. It consisted of Multiple-Choice Questions on the topics - basics of programming, data structures, algorithms, and database management systems. The majority of the questions were to determine the time and space complexity and to determine the output of a given code snippet.

Phase 2: Technical Interview - I

This was again an online assessment that lasted for about 45 minutes. The interviewers asked Raian questions on data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and database management systems. Additionally, the interviewers gave Raian some programming problems to solve in C++/Java/Python. The programming problems were from the topics - recursion, binary tree, and hash map. Toward the end of the interview, the interviewers asked Raian to write SQL query for a given database scenario and schema.

Phase 3: Technical Interview - II

This interview was similar to the previous interview with the exception that the interviewers were different. The interviewers gave Raian four programming problems on the topics - pattern matching, binary search, and tree traversal to solve. Afterward, the interviewers gave Raian a database-design task where he had to design a database schema.

Phase 4: HR Interview

This interview lasted for about 20 minutes. The interviewer asked Raian about his previous experiences, career objective, and motivation behind joining Therap. Afterward, they discussed current affairs.
