Promi Mojumder is currently working as a Software Engineer Intern at ShellBeeHaken Ltd. She is pursuing her undergraduate studies in Software Engineering at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Promi has participated in several prestigious hackathons such as Code Samurai 2024, SUST SWE Technovent, and DU API Hackathon, and has also attended various project showcasing competitions during her undergraduate life.
Her CV was forwarded to ShellBeeHaken by the Software Engineering department at SUST. Shortly after, she received an email inviting her to an offline interview.
The interview process included two stages held at the company’s office premises.
Phase 1: Technical Interview
The first was a technical round, which began with a written assessment focused on problem-solving. This assessment covered DSA topics such as graphs and dynamic programming, as well as SQL and OOP-related questions. It included 18 to 20 questions and lasted for 2 hours. Following this, a technical viva was conducted where the interviewers primarily discussed her answers from the written test. Additional questions were asked based on her CV, including topics like the difference between CSS Grid and Flexbox, her academic journey, hobbies, and some personal details. This viva lasted around 30 minutes.
Phase 2: HR Interview
The second round was a 30-minute HR interview. During this session, the HR representative introduced the company’s strategy, work culture, and salary structure. They also asked Promi about her career choices, such as why she opted for this path despite having a strong CGPA, why she did not consider teaching or opportunities abroad, and her SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. Some personal questions were also included.
The interview process lasted an entire day, during which the company provided breakfast, lunch, and tea/coffee. Additionally, they compensated her with 2000 taka for transportation costs. A week later, Promi received an email confirming her selection for the internship.
To prepare for the interview, Promi practiced easy to medium-level problems on platforms like LeetCode and HackerRank. She also studied frequently asked interview questions related to web development and Java OOP to enhance her understanding of project-specific concepts.
