Nawreen Anan Khandaker is currently working as a Software Engineer (QA) at Tiger IT Bangladesh Ltd. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Military Institute of Science & Technology, where she also served as a Cultural Representative for the CSE department. Nawreen participated in a number of coding contests and project showcase competitions in addition to her coursework to enhance her resume. Following the completion of her thesis, she started looking for jobs. She got to know about the opportunity at Tiger IT through a Facebook post made by an alumni who was employed by Tiger IT at the time. Nawreen then got in touch with the alumni and submitted an email with her resume for the job. Afterward, she went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:
Phase 1
During this phase, Nawreen got an email from Tiger IT containing links to two software testing tasks that she had to finish in four days. The first challenge involved figuring out how inputs are processed to produce an output for a particular scenario. The second challenge was to test a program and determine its behavioral pattern and any anomalies.
Phase 2
This two-hour technical assessment was broken up into four parts.
- Part 1: Problem Solving - Nawreen was tasked with solving two programming problems.
- Part 2: Puzzle Solving - Nawreen had a time limit and was given six to seven puzzles to solve. It was a little difficult for her because of the time restriction.
- Part 3: Software Testing - Nawreen was given some test scenarios and was instructed to create test cases for them, indicating which test cases should be prioritized and which corner cases she shouldn’t overlook.
- Part 4: Theoretical Viva - The interviewers went through her resume and asked questions about the projects she had mentioned. Next, they posed several theoretical questions about test cases, software testing, SDLC, testing mindset, and other topics.
Phase 3
It was an HR interview. During this phase, the interviewer went through Nawreen’s resume and asked her a few questions about the projects and the certifications she mentioned. Then the interviewer asked about Nawreen’s educational and family background, her plans for the future, and so on.
