Recruitment Stories - Naib's Experience at Astha IT

A F M Naib Uddin is currently working as a Software Test Engineer Level-1 at Astha IT. He holds a BSc in Computer Science & Engineering from Jagannath University.

Naib discovered the job opportunity through a Discord channel and applied via LinkedIn. His journey from application to securing the position involved a two-round interview process: a technical round and an HR round.

Phase 1: Technical Round

The technical round was focused primarily on quality assurance (QA) concepts, with about 70% of the questions being scenario-based. Naib was asked to demonstrate his knowledge of various testing techniques, including automation, API testing, performance testing, and tools like Postman and JMeter. The interviewers also inquired about his experience writing test cases for different scenarios. The session lasted around 50 minutes, diving deep into both theoretical knowledge and practical experience with tools.

Phase 2: HR Round

The HR round was relatively more relaxed and concentrated on understanding Naib’s long-term career goals. Despite the casual tone, there were still a few technical questions thrown in, giving Naib the opportunity to showcase his knowledge once again.

In preparation for the interview, Naib made sure to build a strong foundation in QA concepts. He became proficient in tools like Postman and JMeter and gained experience in automation using Selenium with TestNG. Naib credits the Guru99 website as an invaluable resource for clarifying key QA concepts, and he also enrolled in a course with Road to SDET, which significantly boosted his interest in QA. The course included a mock interview, allowing Naib to identify his strengths and areas for improvement, which played a pivotal role in his interview preparation.
