Maliha Chowdhury is currently working as a Trainee Researcher at iFarmer.asia. She has completed her graduation in BBA (Major - Finance, Minor - Media Studies and Journalism) from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. Before working at iFarmer.asia, Maliha interned at Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited and Meena Sweets & Confectioneries Ltd., a sister concern of Gemcon Group.
Maliha got to know about iFarmer.asia through one of her relatives. From then, she kept an eye on the company’s career page. So, when iFarmer.asia posted about this role, Maliha applied immediately by sending her resume to the given email address. She then went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:
Phase 1: Screening Form Submission
After Maliha sent her resume, she received a follow-up email from iFarmer.asia. They provided her a link to a form where she needed to provide answers to the following:
- Full Name
- Contact Number
- Graduating University
- Residence
- Tentative Joining Date
- What does she know about iFarmer.asia?
- Why does she think of herself as the right candidate for the role?
Phase 2: Interview
In this phase, the interviewers asked Maliha the following:
- Tell something about yourself.
- For conducting primary research, you will need to go on a field trip. Are you comfortable with this?
- If you are asked to innovate a new product based on secondary research, how will you go on about that?
Also, the interviewers discussed the responsibilities of the Trainee Researcher role.
Maliha’s strategy to prepare for interviews was to apply to as many relevant roles in various companies as she could. And she wasn’t very picky. With each passing interview, she got more aware of the kind of questions that got asked in an interview. So, after she was done with an interview, she used to analyze her answers and used to find areas where she could improve. Also, she watched various videos that helped her prepare for answers in an interview. All these greatly helped her to nail the interview at iFarmer.asia.
Special thanks to Maliha Chowdhury for taking out the time to share her recruitment experience with me.
