Indrajit Chakraborty is currently working as a Quality Assurance Engineer Intern at VISAThing. He graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), where he gained hands-on experience through various software development projects. While working on these projects, he developed a natural inclination toward spotting errors and inconsistencies—an ability that gradually led him to pursue a career in Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
He began his career in manual testing, focusing on writing test cases, performing functional and exploratory testing, and ensuring seamless user experiences. Over time, Indrajit expanded his expertise into automation testing, gaining working knowledge of tools like Selenium WebDriver and WebdriverIO, along with Postman for API testing. He also became proficient in JIRA, using it for defect tracking and project management.
Currently, at VISAThing, he is building his career in SQA with strong motivation to keep learning and contribute to delivering reliable software solutions.
Indrajit applied to VISAThing after seeing an opening post for the internship role. The recruitment process was structured into two main phases—a technical round and an HR round—each evaluating different aspects of his skills and personality.
Phase 1: Technical Round
The first round was conducted by the Technical Lead and the Head of the Tech Team. After brief introductions, the discussion quickly shifted to testing-related questions. Indrajit was asked to explain core SQA concepts such as Black Box Testing, White Box Testing, and provide practical examples. One of the standout questions was: “How would you test a calculator app using White Box Testing?”—to which he shared detailed possible approaches.
The interviewers also explored his knowledge of automation testing frameworks, the potential role of AI in test automation, and his approach to API testing using Postman. Another question focused on how he uses the JIRA board for defect tracking and project management, which he explained confidently.
Indrajit performed strongly throughout the session, answering almost all questions with clarity. The only one he couldn’t answer was, “What is Monkey Testing?”—a question posed by the Head of the Tech Team. Still, his solid theoretical foundation and ability to communicate concepts clearly left a lasting impression. This strong performance ultimately helped him move forward in the process.
Exactly 15 days later, Indrajit received an email confirming that he had successfully cleared the technical round and had been offered the position.
Phase 2: HR Round
The second phase took place a week after the confirmation. Unlike the technical round, this session was more focused on organizational aspects such as salary structure, work culture, and mutual expectations. It was more of an open conversation aimed at ensuring alignment between Indrajit and the company.
