Fayjul Islam is currently working at Orbitax Bangladesh Limited as an Associate Software Engineer. He has earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Fayjul applied to the role at Orbitax through campus recruitment. He went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:
Phase 1
It was a problem-solving contest. The contest was held on the Codility platform. There were five coding problems from the topics: implementation, ad hoc, graphs, and dynamic programming.
Since Fayjul practiced solving programming problems from the Codeforces platform during the early phase of his undergraduate studies, he did not face difficulties in passing this assessment.
Phase 2
It was both a technical and a non-technical interview session with the CTO of the company. The interviewer asked questions about the specifics Fayjul had mentioned in his resume. He asked about the reasoning behind several design decisions of Fayjul’s projects. Also, he asked technical questions related to the skill set that Fayjul had mentioned. As part of the non-technical questions, the interviewer asked about Fayjul’s learning methodology, how he tackled high-pressure situations, and more.
Special thanks to Fayjul Islam for taking out the time to share his recruitment experience with me. If you have any queries, feel free to contact him at fayjul79@gmail.com
