Recruitment Stories - Fatema's Experience at bKash

Fatema Akter is currently working as a Project Manager at bKash. She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from East West University and her Master’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from United International University. Prior to working at bKash, Fatema worked as a Technical Content Specialist at Dhrubok Infotech Services Ltd., and as an SQA Engineer at Bit Mascot, ReliSource Technologies Ltd., and Therap (BD) Ltd.

Fatema applied to the role through one of her LinkedIn connections. Then, she went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:

Phase 1

In this phase, the interviewers asked Fatema from whatever was mentioned in her resume. They asked her about her previous job experiences and the reason behind this transition. Besides, they asked questions on -

• Resource Management
• Process Tracking
• Roles of a Project Manager
• How to tackle difficult Stakeholders
• Cross-functional team alignment

and so on

Phase 2

This phase was conducted by the department heads and the HR. They asked questions on -

• Project Management life cycle
• Statement of Work
• Product Backlog
• Scrum
• Sprint Planning
• Sprint Retrospective
• Prioritization of items
• Risk Management
• How to resolve blocker
• Manage Stakeholders
• Waterfall vs Agile, when to use waterfall and it’s drawbacks

The interviewers asked some analytical questions as well. They gave Fatema certain scenarios and asked her to explain how she would operate in those scenarios. Besides, they asked a few questions regarding Fatema’s career transitions and shared their opinions about her from a high-level perspective. Also, there was a brief discussion from HR’s perspective.
