Moksedur Rahman Sohan is currently working as an Associate Software Engineer at Therap (BD) Ltd. He has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. In his initial days at university, Sohan invested his time in competitive programming and later on, moved to learning web development. He has participated in numerous competitions and hackathons and by dint of sheer hard work, he got to win the Therap Javafest 2023.

Sohan applied for the role at Therap through campus recruitment. He then went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:

Phase 1: Written Test (On Campus)

It was a 2-hour assessment. There were 10 questions, each carrying 10 marks. 5 of the questions covered problem solving and the remaining 5 covered object-oriented programming and database systems. The problem-solving questions could be attempted in any programming language.

Phase 2: Technical Interview

This assessment took about fifty minutes to complete and was done at Therap’s office. Sohan was initially given two programming problems to solve on paper by the interviewers. Subsequently, they shifted their focus to asking about subjects like object-oriented programming, databases, networking, and security. The questions included topics from fundamental networking ideas like TCP and UDP to knowledge of HTTPS functionality and database properties like atomicity.

Phase 3: HR Interview

This assessment lasted about twenty minutes and took place at Therap’s office. The interviewer asked about Sohan’s time at university in Sylhet, his involvement in extracurricular activities, his family background, his interests, his aspirations for the future, and his opinions on current events.
