   ~2 min read

Navan Tanjeem Hossain is currently working as a Software QA Engineer 1 at Shohoz. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) with a minor in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from BRAC University.

In this article, I will share Navan’s experience of landing a job at Shohoz so that others can benefit from it.

Navan learned about the vacancy from a friend and sent his resume to the recruiter, who quickly responded about his selection. He then went through the following recruitment phases before accepting the job offer:

Phase 1:

This phase was conducted by the QA lead of a specific team at Shohoz. The interviewer primarily asked questions about Navan’s work in his former company. In addition, the interviewer asked a few basic questions related to manual testing. Afterwards, the interviewer presented several scenarios to Navan and asked him to explain how he would test a new module in those scenarios. One example question was how Navan would test a login system.

Phase 2:

This phase was conducted by the QA Lead of another team at Shohoz, and it involved a more detailed discussion. Some of the topics discussed include:

  • The interviewer presented Navan with several scenario-based questions and asked him to explain how he would test modules under those scenarios.
  • There were some questions involving puzzles to examine Navan’s analytical ability.
  • The interviewer asked Navan about various software testing terminologies.
  • The interviewer asked questions on JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, API testing, and databases.
  • Also, the interviewer gave Navan some basic ad-hoc programming problems to solve which Navan solved using Java.

Phase 3:

This was the final phase of the recruitment process, conducted by the HR department at Shohoz. Navan mainly discussed his salary expectations with the interviewer during this phase.
